IPTV troubleshooting: buffering, loading and refresh problems

Most playback problems come from the connection, the app or a playlist that needs refreshing. Work through these steps in order before contacting support.

Updated

1. Check your internet connection

  • Run a speed test on the same network as your TV or device.
  • Restart your router and wait until it is fully back online.
  • Use an Ethernet cable or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band if your device supports it.
  • Pause large downloads or other streams on the same connection.

2. Restart the app and the device

Close the player completely, then switch the device off at the power button, wait a few seconds and switch it on again. On Android TV and Fire TV, clearing the player's cache in the app settings can also help.

3. Refresh or reload your playlist

After activation, or after a change on our side, the player may still show old data. Look for an option such as Refresh, Reload or Update playlist in the player's settings, or restart the player.

4. Update the player and your device

Install the latest version of the player from your device's app store and any pending system update. Also check that the date and time on your device are correct, as some secure connections fail when they are wrong.

5. Still not working? Contact us

Message us on WhatsApp or use the contact form, and include:

  • Your device and the player's name.
  • What happens on screen, including any error message.
  • A photo or screenshot if you can.

General information, reviewed by the Streamovas team. Player menus change between versions, so the exact wording on your screen may differ.
